This week we faced Chester at home. Buoyed by the result against Caldy the previous week, the lads went into the game with great enthusiasm, determined to give another great performance. The game started and it was evident from the outset that this was not going to be a flowing game of rugby! The most minor of indiscretions was being penalised constantly, and questionable high tackle decisions meant that game was full of nothing but free passes and scrums. The team managed to score a couple of tries during the game, but on both occasions the celebrations were squashed as the tries were disallowed.
The game ended 0-5 to Chester, which unfortunately for the lads did not reflect the effort and commitment they put into the game. Taking positives out of the disappointing result, the team can be proud of how they continued to battle and play for each other, right to the final whistle, even under such frustrating circumstances. Put this game in the past where it belongs and move onwards and upwards! Well done boys!
