Following on from their impressive success at the Manchester Grammar Tens tournament last year, St Anselm's Under-13s made it a double after being crowned Birkenhead School Sevens champions 2012. After navigating their way through a strong initial group, which contained sides from Wilmslow, Hutton Grammar and Merchant Taylors, St Anselm's raised their game and defeated established teams such as Lymm and the hosts Birkenhead to reach the final against Wirral Grammar. This was a fitting finale to the competition as both teams demonstrated their attacking prowess but some resolute defending, great teamwork and individual excellence brought the victory to Anselms.
