Coach McKinney reshuffles squad after injury blight

Article by Jamie Kimpton
- Director of Rugby

A warm welcome to the players, officials and travelling supporters of
De La Salle Rugby

Today’s opponents, like ourselves, have found the step up to Level 6 difficult as they sit rooted to the bottom of the division with Saints just above them. Della have had some close games and a great win recently against Penrith.

Saints meanwhile have begun to play better rugby recently, but last week away at Waterloo was a bad day at the office by our own standards especially after the effort shown the previous game against Manchester which saw Saints earn a rare victory .

Andy again has to shuffle the squad, Steve Brooks re joins the side following a nasty gash to his shin . Will Grabe is unavailable today so Ewan Nolan joins Niall Cavanagh in the 2nd row with a back row made up of Lima Nonu, Matty Dowler and Skipper Nick Hearn who continues his return from a long term injury. Behind the scrum Liam Sadler continues his half back partnership with Liam Isaacs. Mark Petterson joins the back line with Tom Price and Andy Cummings making up the back 3. This weeks “Game Changers” are Kris Lewis, Tyler Brooks & Kellum Friday.

Chris & Toby take their table topping Crusaders to Capenhurst today after a rest week , Tim and the Mavericks are without a fixture .

Please crank up the noise today as it really makes a difference to the players. But, please be mindful of our opposition and match day officials .
