So the start of the new season is closing in. After a promising U8 campaign, we look to the start of what I call proper rugby. However, the RFU being the RFU have changed the rules and, on reflection, this may not be that bad a move. So, instead of having to coach everything to the lads, we now just have to concentrate on the tackle and the offside.
The tackle is something that cannot be rushed and I would ask all parents to remember that when shouting encouragement on match days or talking away from the club. Tackling is all about confidence and some are happy to tackle before others.
The fixtures are now on the website. I would ask all parents to get themselves a login so they can access content and leave comments or post suggestions to the website. I will be expecting everyone at every training session and match unless there is a comment left on the website by the Friday. This is to help the coaching team develop more strategic sessions for the lads and will only help us develop them further. The more notice I have of numbers available, the better informed the training sessions will be.
Remember, it is the registration day this Sunday and the start of the Sunday sessions. As a team, we will need to decide whether we are to keep the midweek training sessions on. We might need to look at what day we are doing them if we decide to keep them as I know that Tuesday's cause issues for some. A discussion for the future methinks.
See you Sunday.
