The senior players were brought together, this evening, at Vauxhall's Sports and Social Club, to meet Saints' new player / head coach, Liam McGovern and to hear his plans for the pre-season build-up and beyond.

The meeting was well attended with more than 30 players and management looking forward to working with "The Guv." Amongst them was the experienced ex-premiership pro., new signing, Chris Pilgrim.

Chris's brother, Steve Pilgrim, a Saint's stalwart front-rower, joins the management team as joint DOR with Jamie Kimpton. Also joining the management team as assistant coach is Liam Sadler who is taking a back seat from his star playing role because of a recurring knee injury. Although, he may be tempted to don the shirt from time-to-time.

Liam McGovern, is an experienced 10 and a goal-kicking specialist. He joined Rugby Union from the 13-man code where he represented GB Academy against Australia and New Zealand. He played League Rugby for St Helens, Rochdale and Swinton before converting to Union with Waterloo, Chester and Sale FC.
