Today we welcome Bolton RUFC, who have had a good start to the year having won two of their last three games. A win away at De La Salle last week will have lifted them and they will be here to prove a point – there are no easy games in this league.
Give the officials, players and supporters a warm welcome to the Pavilion, enjoy the game and the atmosphere in the bar afterwards.
Those of you who came last week saw the Saints put Keswick to the sword, a hard fought game, not without incident, the 50 – 0 score-line reflected our dominance even though we were down to 14 players for a large part of the game.
With much of the front row side-lined the team produced a galvanised performance and again came through strongly towards the end of the game.
Next week is the top of the table clash, Rochdale away. They have two games in hand having played 13 games and only lost one – to us here at the Pavilion on 23rd October 43 – 21. They have the home advantage and will undoubtedly be out to claim the points and close in on the title.
Our Crusaders won again last week at Altrincham & Kersal and are now 3rd in their league. They have a visit to Preston Grasshoppers in the NOWIRUL Trophy today.
The Mavericks are at home today against Bury 3rd team in the NOWIRUL Plate. Top of their league, they are going from strength to strength – Well done lads!
Our juniors are also improving in numbers and strength reinforced by Sale RUFC who have invited three of our U15s to attend their Rugby Academy.
Please remember, we rely on volunteers at the club and always need more help around the clubhouse and grounds. Being part of the team is part of the journey!
